4th of July

Widebrim

I'll Lock Up
I've read a lot about 4th of July picnics, where everyone in town will bring their specialties and sit out watching fireworks, enjoying the community. It may be a fantasy, but I hope that still exists for some of you! Independence is a great thing to celebrate - I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

It is still an American tradition, Puzzicato, although often there will be public displays of music and fireworks the week-end just preceding Independence Day.

Happy Independence Day!!! :) Thank you for posting all the wonderful materials everyone.

Around here, there are many parades, fireworks, and cookouts. We'll be cooking out tonight- the weather is beautiful today!

Have a great 4th!

Went to a good friend's. Had BBQ. Took my daughter for her first swim (she is almost 5 months). Husband took her for a second swim. Saw some one week old puppies. Decided to get our daughter a puppy. Good, easy, relaxing day. :)

In the morning went to Huntington Beach for the annual 4th of July parade. This year Lou Ferrigno was the Grand Marshal. In the evening we went to Downtown Disney and saw The Lone Ranger at the AMC Theatre followed by dinner at the New Orleans Jazz Kitchen and then watched the fireworks from the restaurant balcony.

What did you think of the Lone Ranger? I've heard very mixed things.

After having a very nice late lunch at a local restaurant with my lovely wife, we spent the night indoors with our three-year-old cat and two-year-old pup trying to keep them calm while much of our neighborhood "celebrated their freedom" by shooting off their *illegal fireworks until well after 1:00 a.m.. For five straight hours our neighborhood sounded like a battlefield. :mmph:

*Fireworks, even the so-called legal ones, are not allowed in our city and can result in a $1,000 fine if local law enforcement decides to cite you.
