40s Windward Suede Horsehide Half-belt

I have nothing like this so I had to have it. The Windward brand is a favorite. This one is probably early post-war. I think of this as their 40s label. I avoid the suede leather as too delicate. This one has survived quite well. Very little staining, very nice lining, size tag in pocket, good working zippers. I really like the contrast with the smooth horsehide trim. It is marked as a 40, but I'd say a big 40. I typically wear a 44. It is light weight as the video shows.

Just something a little different.

I really really like this one. I don't know where they got the size 40. There was no mention of the size tag in the ad. The measurements in the ad were more or a 42.

That's a lovely jacket. Very surprised to see that being suede it doesn't have much stains nor does it look very rough.

One thing I love about suede jackets it's the smooth leathers on collars. It really enhances the look.

Oh! That's definitely not a 40 size, you are a 44 and can wear it well.

So my dad used to have one nearly the same. Only it must have been given to him and never meant very much to him. I recall that he threw it away the day after he caught me "stealing" it out of the closet to try it on. Always felt a little guilty for that over-reaction.

That color suede with the leather collar just looks really handsome. I had a similar one many years ago and have been looking for the right one for some time. Very nice.
