40s Windowpane Check Tweed Suit: Size 42 Long x 36 Waist

I came across this really cool 40s tweed suit on eBay. At $200 buy-it-now, it's a pretty good price for a larger/taller size. If it was regular and not a long I'd snap it up in a second!

Yes, I've seen that. But it's a very odd size. Must have been a monkey man. Stubby legs and a huge torso.

what's your inside leg measurement Rudie ? maybe you could wear them as shorts ?

the arms aren't long either... perhaps a later owner had both altered.

Not quite that bad. Jeans 34, vintage trousers with a low crotch often work with a 32 inseam. My arms are the problem. 40 chest, 19 shoulders, but 27.75 sleeves.

I was wondering that too. Probably the second most common issue with fit I see on guys who wear vintage is suit jackets that are the incorrect length (the most common one being wearing jackets that are too tight).
