40s Harley Davidson Cycle Queen-Mint

Very nice jacket! TBH, this is my least favorite motorcycle cross zip, could never get over those two large pockets but I still appreciate it for what it is. Terrific find in any case.
And seriously though, I had always wondered how these used to fit in comparison to today's women's leather jackets.

Anyone knows what are these vertical lines on the shoulders, though?

Old post, but have a look at the ladies super Monza, they do the same thing but on the side of the chest.
It's a way to increase room in certain areas.

I sold that jacket last fall. I found a Cycle Champ with the same lining and the original Harley label for sale on ebay. Late 40s seems correct.

Terry, In your original post you mention blackened conmar zippers from jackets of this era. I'd say they were left over from war contracts..........

@tmitchell59, I don’t know who made jackets for HD during the period of that Cycle Queen, but the leather, collar and general design seems very reminiscent of my Lawrence FQHH jacket.

Ok, that makes sense. I seen this on other jackets. The jacket is late 4th 0s.

I'm not an Authority on Harley-Davidson jackets. I do believe the cycle Queen started with this jacket in the late forties. The horse hide on this jacket was very nice, it was also mint condition. I would guess a lot of people made jackets for them. Not sure the quality under Harley branded jackets. I've only handled a couple.
