3 Moore fedoras !

I met my friend Mike Moore of Buckaroo Hatters for dinner tonight... and guess what???
He had me a few surprises on hand!!!

The first up is a hat we named "The Harvester".

A sweet 100% beaver in grey with a burgandy band. I told Mike I wanted another 'everyman' type hat. One that a farmer would wear to the field on Saturday morning, and dust off and wear to town on Saturday night.
I left all the details up to Mike except the color, I wanted a grey fedora. Crease, ribbon and ribbon color were all up to the maker.
I was more than happy weith the results, when I got home with it my wife said "I believe that is the prettiest hat you have ever owned.

"The Harvester"

The next one was one I had him work on for awhile, I call it "The 1912" it is based on the hat worn by the character 'Fedora' in the movie The Last Crusade'. Crusade fans will know where the 1912 comes from. A brown 100% beaver. That I am sure will hold up well to my planned use!

And this number Mike came up with is a sweet black fedora with a silver/grey ribbon. Its made in the dress western weight.

I will be taking more detailed photos in the next few days.

Hat Trick!

Fine job, young man. I look forward to seeing all of those in August.

But more pictures in the meantime will be fine. We need side shots and interior shots, too.

So was this an illicit had drop off in the Walmart parking lot? lol

Wal-Mart it was, when we were leaving from dinner, not inside Wal-Mart, a older man ahead of us turned and stated, he saw us at the table and wanted to say, nice hats ya'll have there, then he said he used to own a western store and sold hats, but really wanted to see the hat Rusty had on, he liked the feel and look of the hat, and then asked Rusty where did you get that, and Rusty pointed to me, it made me feel good, when he said nice hat. I sort of felt like a proud dad!

GREAT hats, Rusty! Particularly fond of that 1912. I couldn't pull it off. But, damn, you do!

Oh, and that first shot of Mike with the shades - for a moment there I thought it was Dennis Hopper!

MORE HATS..

RUSTY , i did get to see the Hats early during the day, and i wished i could tell you how smooth they were, but i had my hands covered with leather finishes. BUT i could see the smoothness of the Felt in all 3 hats.
all of them were Moore +, but my favorite is the Black one:eusa_clap

Mr Lucky, you don't know how many times that is said to me, people thinking I look like Dennis Hopper, I travel alot and when I go some where, it always upset me, why people were looking at me, then about 8 years ago while at a mall, some one walked up and said, He really like the movies I had done, I thought he must have seen me as a extra in a few civil war movies I had been in, then he asked me about being in a movie called Water World and many others, I asked what? he said Mr Hopper, we love your work, I just brushed it off, then it happened again a few days later, and then again, this went on for about a year. I told my wife, and she said "I don't see it" then about two months went by and I heard her running down the stairs, saying " look at this, and she flipped on the TV and there he was, and she said you really do look alot like him. We both have the same hair line and high on our heads. When I have the hat off, people really do tell me I look like him.

At least once a month some one tells me that.

Here is what Rusty was asking the "1912" to look like, it is the hat that the young Indy is given in the Last Crusade movie, you only got to see the hat a few times during the early part of the movie. And once Indy was grown in this movie you see him wearing a hat a little differant. The thing I found was the hat band ribbon was not as wide on the 1912, and the side dents were not as deep on the 1912, the hardest thing was trying to get a good shot of the crown in the 1912 during the movie. Once I froze the shot, I made a drawing and put that crease in the crown, there is one photo that I was able to see some of the crease on the 1912.
