Why do you ask?
I just listed a lot of 1940's Mercury Dimes on eBay. Figured what with the time period of the coins and the group we've got here, there may be some interest in them.

I have a good number more of them thanks to a grandmother who's cleaning out the clutter, but am just "testing the waters" with a small lot. Or if someone wants to make me an offer here for the rest, I'm open.

Thanks and hope these catch someone's interest!

Randy

P.S as it says in the listing, I will gladly post to Canada, Australia, and UK addresses in addition to the obligatory and obvious United States.

Hmmmm . . . time was when that would have represented 21 comics books to me. Now I wonder, which would be more valuable today, the dimes or the comic books I would have bought with them?

I got one of these as change from a vending machine a couple years ago. Having never seen one before, I was a bit surprised, and my first thought was "Canadian?" lol

Good luck with the sale!

I just noticed that you only have 8 posts, alambka. You have to have at least 15 before I can PM, you. If you go and do a few "looks nice!" or whatever posts, you'll pass the hump quickly.

Just as a reference to save folks time, I'll include part of the text from a PM to an interested party.

I have 158 dimes total. Various mints [unsure which] and conditions. Only 1 with a completely unreadable date. Here's a rundown of years I have and number of coins in that year.

1916: 1
1917:2
1918:5
1919:2
20:1
23:1
24:1
25:1
26:1
27:1
28:3
29:1
34:1
35:5
36:6
37:5
38:1
39:7
40:7
41:10
42:13
43:10
44:12
45:17

Some are a bit crusty, mainly the earlier ones, as they were in one of those cardboard binders, but only one totally unreadable in the date due to a nick in the coin.

P.S This thing keeps undoing the indentation I've put to eliminate the 19 from the dates past 1919.

Willing to sell them off ebay... as in without their insane fees. I just sold four individual coins to a member, so if the price is right, I'm open to anything. Will send a PM in a minute.

I would be interested in some of the earlier ones. condition isn't a major factor for me. drop me a line

You need a few more posts [15 total, you're currently at 12] before I can PM you.
