1st cavalry SSI question

Is there any case where some of the 1st cav ssi (shoulder sleeve Insignia) would have a black edge instead of green ? (i am not counting poorly hand made one of a kind from the vietnam era)

Are you talking about the full color insignia or the subdued ones?

I don't think any regular full color 1st Cav patch had a black border back then. The only way I could see this would be in-theatre made patches, or modern repro.
