1970s/80s Knox Western Hat, 7-1/4

Knox (made by Resistol) “Texan” in a Clay color. Size 7-1/4. Marked as a 3-1/4” brim width it is closer to 3”. 6” open crown height. Color is closer to the reddish brown in the full light photos. Braided leather hat band. A little mothing at the brim edge and some wear on bottom of brim. $55 shipped in the continental USA. International shipping at cost.

Hi Bob, I like the color! the brim looks curled, would it be able to be permanently straightened? Also, do you think the braid band could easily be taken off?

Thanks for the interest @newtohats -- it is a western weight felt with lots of stiffener, but it might be able to be ironed out. A naptha bath might break down the stiffeners a bit as well. The band appears to be glued on and will leave residue if removed, but it's pretty thin so a replacement ribbon or band could cover that up.
