What are you trying to figure out? You got the original sweat band still attached with the seller store embossed, you got a guesstimated date… not much more to tell really. Though, if it’s not branded OR, it’s not an OR. Date seems a little older than I would have guessed. Small size, but if it fits, rock it and enjoy.

I just wanted to know if it is rare collectable worth the time to list or give it to one of the great grand kids.

Not rare, but a very decent hat that you can't buy new. It won't command top dollar due to its small size, but it'll sell.

If you give it to one of the grandkids, impress upon them that it's not a throwaway item and should be taken care of.

It is too small for me I just discovered it hidden in mt father's closet with a picture of my grandfather wearing it that is how I was able to date it. Do you know precent of beaver it was made from?

Stetson has never disclosed the fur blends. That having been said, this is a Royal Quality hat, which was the lowest quality available, so probably not much beaver if any at all. This scan is a little fuzzy, but you can see the OR offerings from 100 down to Royal.

Great scan, Jared but begs the question, again; anybody have a 100 OR? I can’t remember seeing one.

My 100 came with a $100 OR reorder tag. Technically, I can't prove the provenance of the hat, I got it as a set from ebay. It's not out of the realm of possibility that someone had either the case or the hat and then put them together at some point. But I've always thought it more reasonable to assume that it is actually an example of a 100 OR, even though I'm generally in the "has to say OR on the sweat" camp.
