If our friend keeps going out dressed like that, he might not be able to fit into his suits anymore either.

I have never seen someone appear SO flamboyant in such conservative attire!

Nice.

How would I make it less flamboyant so next time I wear that suit it isn't flashy? White shirt, no rose, no pocket square? After that picture I switched the buttons to black from grey that should help.
I don't want to be loud.

I'm actually thinking about ditching that suit for good because it gets so much attention around town. Maybe I will put it in the classifieds on the fedora lounge.

And I have shown up at my station wearing a fedora to have the chief comment on it. You will get attention no matter anyway, wear it enjoy it! I wanted a suit like that my whole life. Found a rental for my wedding but had to give it back:( .
If you sell it you will regret it.

I was told by a girl in her twenties I like you "I would go out with you if...you ditched the vintage look because it looks to much like a man. She said she wants a guy who can just look sexy in a t-shirt and jeans because it manly.

I thought(in my head) that might classify as an oxymoronic statment. I've been told that on a couple occasions that they like me but no women wants to be with a man who is more fashionable than them and dresses from another era. Thats why I'm always single because I just can't bring myself to give up something that defines me even for the women I like.

I am glad to read you chose to keep your identity. There are plenty of girls out there who will appreciate you for who you are.

Don't waste your time with her then! Patience young padowin! I would guess more women prefer that look than the way most guys dress now.

Um if any of the ladies can help me out here? I'm calling for backup!

I don't want to be loud.

It was meant as a healthy compliment.
You seem to have a natural flair and cut a handsome dash.
I wasn't thinking LOUD at all.

But to agree with you for a moment, swapping the light coloured buttons
for dark, would make a definite shift toward the conservative, now that you mention it. Somehow, they don't look original to the suit anyway,
in my opinion.

Maybe flamboyant was not a word that suited you but it suited me.

You and that hat are all angles and it really works.
The way you've shaped the Fedora is great-
very angular in the crown shape due to the deep side dents and pinch, combined with the crown height and then that big swooping brim.
Very graphical. Almost a caricature but not in a negative way at all.

You seem to have nailed some ideals in line, form and contrast and found an æsthetic, maybe even accidentally. Maybe it's just with this suit or ensemble.

Maybe I should have just said you look really cool.
But you really are making the most of that suit.

There will ALWAYS be people that don't agree with your taste in clothing
but it's surely not specific to the items you choose to wear, or the combination of them, or the way you wear them.

Well done, don't change a thing.
Other than the buttons.

I'm very talkative indeed today.

I would remind her of the animal kingdom, where males are always the more colourful and conspicuous, think birds for a start, ever seen a brightly plumed female? Even the lower primates follow this rule, so an immaculately attired male is obviously a threat to her, my advice is avoid someone with such petty insecurities, as they might well mask deeper ones that could be more hassle than you need later on.

There you have it metropd! I do agree about the buttons. I think they take just a little from the boldness of the stripes. Would like to see it with the new buttons too.

Don't worry about changing the style man, the suit looks -great-. Your entire outfit has good contrast and matches well. You'll stand out a bit less without the rose and a bit less contrast (white buttons and handkerchief with a black tie and ribbon), but standing out isn't always bad... Unless you're a ninja.

There are plenty of good looking, stylish gals out there who will dig your style. No sense in changing how you dress if you like it, especially when you -should- like it. You've got a great style, stick to it and you'll be meeting a whole different class of lady.

Wow. That's some serious creasing! Looks good. What's the edge treatment on the hat? Looks to be Mode, or maybe an overwelt?

I was always troubled by the buttons on that suit. Not period at all; to be frank they're a bit much for my taste.

The overall look you have going i think suits you, but if you don't want flamboyance/noticeability, the super-contrast buttons are a no-no. I also try to reduce the "attention" - positive or negative - i receive from random strangers.

Holy Moly...

Great look, Metro. Wait 'til the dames get a load of you at your 10th Reunion.

But enough about you...

Great Caesar's Ghost, Deelovely, are you real or some hologram designed as an experiment with beauty so intense and debilitating that it could be used as a Secret Weapon?

I despise emoticons, but you could make me give up military secrets with just a smile.
