Nice jacket. Technically, of course, it's true half-belt. As with many of these jackets from the period, it's a pity that the belts have gone missing. I have a couple of such cases and I'm thinking of having some belts made for mine if I can find sufficient matching leather. Would you be interested if I can find a source?

Eastman, of course, makes a true half-belt short coat and so will have the patterns. Otherwise, I may even have a go myself...

To own this lovely horse hide jacket that belonged to a Lounger. It is in great condition for its age and a very classic style.

Cracking looking jacket. I'm intrigued by the detail of where the zip stops, i.e. a few inches shy of the bottom of the jacket front, something I have seen on many period jackets. I presume the intent is that this allows for a neat fit (unlike the awful baggy/box look of a modern effort) while allowing the wearer to sit down without opening the jackt - an innovation of an era where people were travelling in motor vehicles more often, and the zip was beginning to replace the button as the fastener of choice? Sort of a zip equivalent of the higher button stance allowing a coat to open at the bottom (something I notice as a big difference between my thhirtiess and fifties overcoats).

I do like that vertical zip pocket detail too. I have seen, on eBay, one of John's Goodwear jackets which was vaguely similar to this overall. (Nicely put together overall look to go with the jacket, BTW - I'm a big fan of the waistcoat under leather jacket look myself.)

Beautiful looking jacket. And the pocket flaps are just über-cool. The overall conditions and fit are just remarkable. That is a very good find, Sir.

Yes, the pocket flaps are somewhat unusual and very fetching. Also unusual and equally attractive (I find) are the parrallel (rather than tapered) sleeve adjusters. Very nice features.
