1930s Stetson "Standard Quality"
This hat is absolutely stunning. Coming from the recent "Eakle deadstock lot", this is the closest you can get to owning a brand new hat from the 1930s. These hats were found inside a barrel in the long closed Eakle location (early 80s).
The felt is super soft and creases with zero effort. The felt coloring is a heather mixture of varying shades of grey.
Inside, one notices the unique feature that holds the sweatband to the hat. Instead of the typical reed, this hat has the "Bon Ton Ivy" sweatband attachment, which allows the wearer to adjust the hats size by a cord that is tucked behind the rear sweatband. This feature was seen on derbies and boaters, rarely seen on soft felts. This may be one of the only Stetsons that exist with this feature, as the hats made for the Eakle store were all custom ordered.
