Would it have fit you (bearing in mind I believe these wear usually very generously cut and designed to be oversized even when worn over a suit)?

YEs, 17 inch shoulders with a 46 inch chest does seem odd.

The Savvy Row coat is in better condition that the 20K coat. That was a complete mystery - one that will probably never be answered. It is a big step up from the usual £200-£300 for a Teddy Bear coat to paying £20K!
A couple of years back Savvy Row had a 1920/1930s Teddy Bear short motoring coat with a 48/50 inch chest. They had it for months and it just didn't sell. i wish I'd bought it.
