this is basically the transitional period between the Victorian 'sack' jacket and the more suppressed-waist 1920s jacket.
by the late teens most of the 'fashion forward' companies would have been going for the trimmer waist with front darts, but there still would have been plenty of 'conservative' suit jackets available during the first half of the 20s which still resembled the un-front-darted sack style. the change didn't happen overnight, but roughly mid to late teens, with some spill into the 20s.
