I enjoy the many facets of model railraoding. All of the research required eventually leads you to other interest like vintage clothing, music, and history. Unlike a lot of model railroaders I usually prefer to scratchbuild in sytrene.
It LIVES! The coat is back from the cleaners without any noticible change.
Unfortunately that includes the odor in the arm pits. So if I can get that corrected I am in business.
I had a very pristine looking 1950's, heavy wool double breasted jacket hanging on the shower rod, with vinegar and hot water in the tub, in an attempt to remove a slightly foul odor in the jacket.
It was fine for a about an hour until the rod fell and plunged the coat into the hot water and...
I finally won a slightly less than mint boater on Ebay this week. I had been bidding on others for a few weeks and all had gone up into the $150.00 range after fierce bidding wars. I believe there is a little bit of a surge in popularity, I have actually seen a few being worn on the streets lately.
