I can't imagine how wonderful it would be to have nice straight hair.
I have really find hair...that has a slight wave to it. Not enough to be wavy all over, but wavy at the front.
So I use a straightening iron to get rid of the frizz at the front.
I know Kat Von D for Sephora has some intense reds, but as for the smell I can't say.
Oddly enough I never minded the smell of my MAC, although some of my girlfriends are fiends for the smell and actually...erm.. chew off their lipstick or lipglass.
I usually have to swtich handcreams between winter and summer. For winter I like a nice thick cream to wear when it gets bitterly cold.
For summer I love Crabtree and Evelyn's Rosewater hand cream, it smells divine!

Maybe try going to a makeup counter and asking for assistance? I think your idea sounds perfect, striking lips and a wee bit of definition for the eyes just to make sure the flash or something doesn't obliterate them?
