Yes sir, used a plastic screw-on bottle cap and filled it with the salt/water. Made it a little wetter than a wet sand consistancy, but not quite as wet as a slurry.
I'm hoping to get to the cigar shop this weekend to get a new hygrometer.
Ok, now I'm completely confused.
I salt tested the analog hygrometer from my humidor, and for comparison I grabbed the digital thermometer/hygrometer that my wife keeps in our living room and put it in the baggie too. Went to bed, checked it the next morning. The analog hygrometer didn't...
Hrm, not since I got it when it read about 72, so I've been reading it -3. But it is a cheapie that came with the humidor so it may be unreliable. I'll test it again when I get home later.
Lightly muddy, the only way I can describe the color is like a weak chocolate milk. I'm familiar with the cloudy white you're talking about. I was going ~2 weeks between refills, letting them get whiteish and small/dehydrated enough that they will roll around freely if I shake the humidifier...
Time to pick the collective brain here. I've had my humidor since April of this year, I use a crystal gel-type humidifier secured to the lid and use only distilled water to fill it. A week ago we left for a trip, I grabbed a couple of cigars, filled the humidifier, and away we went. When we...
Definately don't just cram it on your head. Pushes the crown out funny, tweaks the plane of the brim due to the stress along the band, etc. Plus you'd need the jaws of life to get it off.
I also keep my head..."neat". I used to razor shave it weekly, but that became a chore so now I only use the clippers with no guard every-other week.
I imagine sizing our heads isn't much different than sizing anyone elses. Where the headband would sit, most guys keep their hair fairly...
I wish I would have known this 24 hours ago. I was wearing my hat (with feather) and someone made the Yankee Doodle macaroni reference, and I really didn't know why a feather would be called macaroni.
Now I know its not the feather really, but a knock at "American fashion". Very cool post!
Here's what it looked like before if anyone is curious.
But here's what it looks like now after Gary worked on it. Had to find the time to take the pics...
Cleaned, blocked, brim trimmed, stretched, new lining, new ribbon, and new feather. There's still a little fade/stain to the...
I just happened across this interview with a capybara owner and thought I would share it with my fellow loungers. Its a very good read with several pictures of Caplin Rous, the capybara pet of the interviewee.
I just happened to pickup my hat from Gary this week (clean, bash, trim a snowy river into a teardrop fedora). Just a great man, please to do business with and chat with.
My wife did happen to note on his board that orders placed now would not be ready until October. So Delthayre if you...
I'll eat pepperoncinis with just about anything. Cheetos, ice cream, pizza, smores, subs, burgers, bbq chicken, pb & jelly (or pb & nutella) sandwiches ... all of these I have enjoyed with pepperoncinis.
As soon as I have the jar in my hand, before I even open it, my mouth becomes completely...
I'm a network analyst, which usually means sitting at a computer for the duration of my 13-hour shift. But at anytime I may be required to pull floor tiles, climb around on the floor, lift boxes off the loading dock, etc. so we're allowed to wear jeans or otherwise dirt-ready clothes. I'd be...
Doublegun,
I've mildly contemplated an over-under. Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to fire one so I'm not sure how I would like it. From handling a few in the store they always seemed heavy and unbalanced to me, but that probably varies from model and manufacturer. I'll add...
Funny that I just found their new website, then came here to see this post. They're toting high end manufacturing techniques, specifically for the barrel and receiver, but I agree with you. I can't see spending 2-3 times the money for a new M37 versus getting a vintage M37 that will fire just...
Hmm, that's very interesting. My father-in-law's autoloader hates low brass target loads (Winchester and Remmington alike) since the shell doesn't carry enough momentum to clear the ejection port. Our theory is due to less brass/lower mass, since the same gun is fine with high brass shells...
Oh yes, coffee. But that's more of a necessity than something that I could forget in passing. If I don't have my morning cup the caffeine withdrawl headache is so bad by noon that I might as well call it a day.
Grilled cheese with provolone and one thin slice of salami inside. Serve with tomato soup, dashed with parmesan cheese and black pepper on top. Mmmmmm..
Also a fan of turkey with smoked gouda on rye. Add various veggies as my taste suits that day.
