    Also, poor fit doesn't necessarily speak to quality. May just be the wrong size, or a last that doesn't go very well with your foot shape.

    The buckle looks fine. Not sure what you think is low quality. The leather looks average to low, but not pleather. Kind of to be expected getting the cheaper domestic option instead of springing for cxl. The welt join and stitching are both completely fine, even good. No idea what your issue...

    I dont think the facing bulge looks good, but if you're in love with the look, you could put two holes through near the top and put a lace through to keep it in place.
