it is a company that buys and ships items to you for a nominal fee. unlikely to accept returns except in egregious situations or shipping damage.
the resellers are doing the same thing on ebay basically, but at a much higher price because ebay kills you on fees and they are obligated to follow...
a little long, for the size imo. I figure maybe stuart will adjust his chest and shoulders but not necessarily tweak the full length and sleeves. You'd have to be ultra slim, small chest, but 5'10+ for it to look right I bet.
I have used many leather and cotton laces. Believe I had paracord too. I have never seen a hint of them 'wearing into' a tongue. Discolor/imprint yes. That's what the tongue is for. On PNW boots you often have a folded tongue which is already several layers of leather in that area.
Snugging...
Have to disagree. If they're long and stiff enough that it's pushing the shoulders up, they're too long.
You can get away with it on softer leathers, but some are never gonna be right.
Depends on your preference. I had my iron heart jacket shortened and they're my perfect length for walking around, but short now for driving, motorcycle etc.
I think it speaks to the domestic market's perception of the brand as well as second hand demand. I don't think they're seen as an ubiquitous unremarkable brand there.
I guess I disagree on the characterization of vintage as some rustic return to basics.
The higher quality 'golden age' jackets had a lot of effort into patterning, construction, and materials. Some of the surviving leather is on par with anything coming out today. And there was more innovation...
I agree with a lot of the post but can you define 'fancy'?
unrelated, I'm not a jacket PhD like some guys on here but none of the RMC I tried felt like a higher tier than any of the other quality brands. I've tried a lot of Japanese jackets but also some Schott, Johnson, Lost Worlds, Vanson.
