I saw this mint vintage Sears jacket in the thrift store today. It fit ok when I removed the zip out lining. I was hoping it was horse hide when I first saw it, but I suppose it's cowhide. Anyone think otherwise?.

Depends on the finish on the leather. Some leathers have a resistant finish. You could try a small area with dye or just lightly rub a bit of acetone and then try the dye.
