    Before and After?

That's me on the left after a day of barely bothering with makeup and hair, a good rosacea outbreak, and a dose of cold weather to really bring that red blotchyness out. It ain't pretty. :) Luckily, I had an hour, hot hair rollers and a pound of cover up to remedy the situation before leaving...

Advice on choosing a vintage style or decade.

I'm casting yet another vote for your dark haired, 1920's look Paul. The whole silhouette works so well for you and you are definitely working the look to your advantage. :)

Quirky things that people have done 'in the day' that people would gasp at today..

Everytime I coughed, I was given "Rock and Rye". I'm amazed I don't have a drinking problem.

How to avoid looking like emo / rockabilly / scene ???

Goldfish, in building a wardrobe, *ANY* wardrobe, I try to find 2 or 3 basic cuts which serve to both look good and be comfortable. Find a few items (dress, top, bottom (both trousers and skirt)), that appeal to you visually and flatter you physically. Once you have determined what works for...

She was a vendor there. I just laughed and told her it was my day off, so I liked to dress smartly and thanked her. I think some folks are just a little awkward when then mean to be complimentary. Oh how I'd love to have my boxes delivered! Alas, we got back into my pickup truck and instead...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

Oh a side note, I was dressed in a very conservative early 40's dark blue coatdress, hair nicely rolled, and the cutest pair of faux alligator shoes I've ever had the pleasure to own. I stopped in an antique store on the way to Philadelphia, when a woman approached me and asked "Do you do this...

    Windsmoor coat, fur collar dilemma

Personally, I feel that if the fur has been deceased longer than you have been alive, there's no issue.

I too, adore and covet that dressing table! I've put aside shopping for myself in favor of bulking up my husband's vintage wardrobe. I found a nice 3 button houndstooth jacket this morning that will actually fit his broad shoulders and long arms. He's a bear to fit, so I was thrilled.
