Thanks Dr H, this was helpful, the aero site is not updated as regards stock of the fair isles and asking for their actual dimensions has drawn a blank so far. Still, sizing up sligtly seems the sensible thing to do.
Does anyone have one of these? How is the sizing? Better to size up or down etc.? I have asked aero but they probably have more important things to consider and I would like to get one for my father's birthday in a weeks time.
Thanks in advance.

Concerning the term ‘patsy’, do old-time ‘hillbilly’ / country bands traditionally have a character who is the ‘patsy’…often the bass player?
I remember Bill Black taking this role in the Starlite Wranglers before fame as Elvis’ first bass player:
I wonder if the ‘patsy’ character is...
The common expression when someone is offended is :" Don't take the piss!" (or alternatively "Are you taking the micky?") but not "a". Although, confusingly, there is the English/London use of the 'glottal stop' which can make "the" sound like " a".
How bona to vada your eek! (how good to see your face)
I just wondered if the US lounge members were aware of the Polari language..ostensibly a ‘gay’ slang, once used widely in the theatre but also by sailors in British Merchant Navy and by others. This language/slang isn’t used much nowadays...
Sorry for late reply.
Yes, he was a remarkable fellow alright.

Also in my search i found this pic which i thought was quite charming..
Oh my. It goes to show that one man's shiver is another man's grimace. I've often marvelled at Elvis' talent and emotional communication. Though I feel that his earliest Sun Records years were his best period where some of the songs are nigh on miraculous if listened to without negative...
Hello Frankie, the avatar is a picture of George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff, a Greek-Armenian mystic and spiritual teacher.(Taken in the late(?) 30's)
The Sydney tweed run was on the 7th June, I believe. Seems that it's becoming a global phenomenon.
I have seen some tweed cycling caps that look...

Jess Willard vs. Jack Dempsey in a so brutal it's almost unwatchable but nevertheless fascinating film of their fight.
I think Jack Dempsey once said 'What's a neutral corner?'

One might adhere to a dress code and be very finely dressed but inwardly still be very much the 'tramp' or the 'lunatic'. I'm sure most of us could find examples of this. I'm in favour of a dress code for professions but only by concensus, as Skeet mentions. When we start imagining that a dress...
Nice saying..I agree about not being a sheep but wonder whether it's best, in certain circumstances, to not identify with being eccentric either. That way, if you like, you could be an eccentric in sheep's clothing or even an eccentric in wolf's clothing..
Both Elvis and the Colonel had their eccentricities...I think you're right, Elvis had to channel his eccentric talents into being a 'magic machine'.
IMO the eccentric 'type' is connected with a very active Thymus.
'Has it yet fallen to the lot of any writer upon the thymus to write the...
I think I agree, describing someone as 'eccentric' marginalizes them and is belittling. Even when it is said as a supposed compliment it is patronising and ultimately undermining.
This IMO admirable quote doesn't contradict because it stresses the need for a dissenting voice...
Really nice jacket. The Baracuta G9 'Harrington' is the jacket beloved by English Mod subculture since the '60's (though Baracuta started in the 30's I think?)
Been worn by some famous American's too, of course. I think Elvis is wearing one in King Creole 1958?
There's a thread about them...
I love old comic books and some newer ones...why, when Jack Kirby said he was leaving the Fantastic Four things were never the same again.... it was Steve Ditko all over again ;)

You are liable for customs charges and import VAT but some parcels are passed over (I am not sure how many or what the percentage is).
As far as I can gather, from the US to UK, Customs duty is payable but it depends on the category of goods... clothing is 12 -17.5%
Import VAT of 15% is also...
