Spent my sick day yesterday having a little movie marathon .I saw "sexo, pudor y lagrimas", "Bachelor Mother" ,"Pan's Labyrinth" and "Like water for chocolate".
When I first moved out I lived out in the country by myself and for whatever reason I decided to watch it by myself. It was awful. I couldn't sleep the whole night and the fact that I had watched "the sentinel" before didn't help.
I agree, I think it has the biggest heart out of all his other films. Another Almodovar movie is "Pepi Luci Bom y otras chicas del monton" it was his first movie and it's pretty rough but very funny.
I saw an interview with him a while back and he actually said that he writes characters with a Bette Davis type spirit.
Oh,Women on the verge of a nervous break is another great one.
it's great. Well, I think it's great. It was the first horror movie I saw so it has a special place in my heart. I also remember reading somewhere that it was one of the last major movies filmed in technicolor.
The same thing happend to me when I moved from southern california to the san joaquin valley. The only thing you can really do is give it time. I recommend cleansing your face with rose water after you shower. That helped me.
