Stock hats ship in a day or two. Custom hats vary. I have two ebay names. Panamabobpanamahats And. Panamabob2607508489.
Also I am running a kickstarter where I have a few hats. Look for Navajo jewelry on kickstarter.
Lefty just hates me. I replaced Brent's royalty with Joe. It's just a little royal joke. I've left Brent alone for years. A long time ago the people of Montecristi were going to beat him up and then when they saw how old, naturally, that he had gotten, they just figured they'd let bygones be...
Ecuador is a very strange country to do business in. I try my best. Your hat is in, Ken, if you want it. I'll send it to the West Coast for blocking. I still have some hats in Cincy, but the blocker has gone on vacation. I'm sure I won't get them back for a few weeks.
By the looks of the top, it may be from Huila province. There's an outside chance it's coated paper from China, but without seeing it, I can't tell. The full lining won't allow me to see the vueltas underneath.
I'm around. I can't figure out why that email is bouncing. panamaecuador@yahoo.com works, too. I'm answering everything that comes through, though sometimes I'm late. It's been an odd, odd year!
P.S. Check your junk mail box or spam. Lots of times, my emails end up in there.
I've seen women walking around Azuay and Canar provinces while weaving...
I'll add that Cuenca hats, in their top weaves, rival the equal weave in Montecristi. Also, the Peruvian family we've just found, weaves just as well as in Montecristi, yet their hats are more stout/hardy. They won't...
I also suggest to buy on the low end to test the hats out. I also push to have the hats blocked stateside because you'll find no Fawcetts, Whites, Gomezes, Millers, Sergots, Johnsons, Thompsons, nor Corvellis in Ecuador.
Are you speaking from experience? I bend over backwards to try to get people what they've asked for. If something wasn't requested, then I have no idea. If I flubbed and you didn't tell me, again, I have no idea. I know that the USA blockers, too, bend over backwards to get things as close...
Not all is perfect out of Ecuador. I can tell from his auctions that I use the same factory for about 1/2 of our hats. Also, I've got my detractors, too.
