It sort of does remind me of a CPO. Yeah no hand warmers just rear like a Mackinaw. Material is wool feels the same exact material as an 40s issue peacoat. That rainlike resistant wool.
I noticed that when I looked. The lining in the back pockets are the same material I see in issue 40s peacoats and with the part that is painted with a name navy style.
The grouping came with a torpedoman coat, deck jacket and navy watch items.
I got this today with some other navy items from WWII. I am a little puzzled by this coat its a double mackinaw that has a USN style stencil in the lining at the bottom portion. I see no evidence of a tag to suggest is a Filson or something.
I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like...
I'll try to slim down to fit in it but, If i cant it might possibly be available for purchase down the road.
Edit: Just measured the fleck suit its a size 34" chest I was way off with 37R. Looks like I actually fit into a 36R suit the pinstripe one. Sorry guys.
Found these in the wild yesterday still need some pressing. From the same man dated 36 and 37. Oddly enough were one my exact size even the pants. The other fits it's just a little tight near the armpits.
I'm not really much of a vintage clothing collector. I mainly collect WWII. Picked this up at an estate sale because, its horsehide similar to the A-2 and looked really cool with the blanket liner.
Think these are hard to find?
Let me know what you guys think of the jacket
