Sweatband replacement/renovation
Thanks for the confidence vote Jimmy the Lid; I've got some good before photos to compare with the after; I'll post results for those interested. The Long Oval Unfortunate's Club
I can commiserate with all! 7 3/8th Long Oval here...the posts are spot on about vintage blocked LO's being the tickets for we blessed with that head shape. I have a 50's vintage Open Road in Long 3/8 Oval that is a perfect fit in every way and for tha reason has been my "Go To" hat for decades...- lookoutscj

Tom, No, not doing so well! And yes, I actually was relieved to lose that bid; right before the higher bidder jumped in I had just found an identical TWA marked DC3 pin in an obscure corner of OFAS and had hit the BUY IT NOW key and had it at a fraction of what I was about to pay...this pin...- lookoutscj

Instruments - what do you play?

Feathers and pins?
I always remove them as well. However, if I ever find that perfect Stetson Stratoliner I've looked for so long, I would probably like to have that original DC-3 pin that came along with it as well as the box.
