I found a pair of these pretty well discounted, and I like these shoes for reasons I cannot adequately explain, but I've never owned a pair of mocs and I'm not even sure if I would wear them enough to justify the purchase.

A good stiff brush took most of the bad dust off. I may go at it with canned air later, but it looks pretty good now. The next step is to find a different ribbon.

Why not? One lower-quality for knocking about on sunny days, picknicking, going to the beach, etc, and one high-quality for when you need a knockout straw hat (tropical wedding?).
