I found what i believe to be the patent date on the Gutos (German) buckle. I think it has a patent date of 1953. With no label and nothing that looks like there was ever a label attached, It was probably a one off jacket.

Here are a couple pics of the jacket. Weighs in at nearly 6lbs. Very nice stitching and I like the footballs on the elbows. It has a few vertical lines in the leather on the back. Fits me well. The pictures add a shine to jacket it really doesnt have.

I finished putting my 73 Harley Ironhead together last month and thought I’d pick up a vintage cafe racer to wear while riding the old bike. A recent late night epay purchase landed me an older brown cafe racer. I know the Zipp zippers are probably German but can’t figure out these buckles...
It’s funny Eric, when I reach into the closet I grab the Comet over the Sheene probably 4 to 1. It’s a fantastic riding jacket. I’ve put a few hundred miles on the bike this year and most all of them wearing the Vanson
