You know I bought a tool off of Standard for cutting the slots. They have a section on their site for them but it wasn't much help. I may be using it wrong or my belt may be too tough. It's only ten bucks though so it's probably worth a try. That's the toughest thing about doing this. I've been...
I think that's the company that supplied the people who made those belts originally. They've been in business since the 19th century (literally). They have a great tool also called the "hand held tool with blades". I think you have to have that.
Tandy may be good for leather but for this sort...
James,
Here's where to get the real thing in case you missed it over at VLJ. They have the "authentic" mounted jewels and rivets.

Do they look like the picture above or is the metal less pronounced? I think I have the ones they sell and they aren't quite right. There's very little metal and they don't sit flush on the belt. I used them for doing some prototyping.
If I'm wrong and they look like the above please let me...
Does anyone know about rhinestones? I'm looking to make this belt myself and the only tough part is the rhinestones and the metal housing around it. If anyone knows were to find those two items it would be an enormous help. I've seen a lot of cheap versions of the rhinestones out there for home...
Buco Drizzler
I just saw a Japanese site that is selling a "Drizzler" by Buco. It's really by a Real McCoy and the jacket is marred a little (for me anyway) by having a Buco Helmet emblem stitched on otherwise it's a very good looking jacket.
See link...
I'm fascinated by the Japanese. I saw something recently that said they don't have large enough houses that they end up spending much on them and so they spend on clothes. They have certain similarities to the English I think. Maybe it's the island living. What do you think Edward?
Edward, I...
It's amazing how expensive Japanese stuff is. I don't mind over-paying but that's demented. I think I'll keep looking. I'd make my own before I paid that. I think that version (the double pin) is $600 and the single is $550.
Let's see if I figured out the insert image. I found this on a japanese sight. Very close.
Now I don't know if a 42 year old (straight) man can get away with wearing it.
Jeez, I think they want $550 for that!
Boy, I keep talking to people from different places that I have preconceptions about and I keep having them blown away. Thank God for the internet.
I checked out your ebay page, very cool.
Is Kansas a good place for a clothes horse? I'm in Connecticut and except that it's close to NYC and Boston it's pretty boring here.
Probably a great place for western wear, huh?
I'm looking for a 36 inch.
Yup, that's it. That's very close to what I was looking for except in black leather and without the metal studs around the jewel area.
It's amazing but I can't find anyone who makes those new. I've seen a picture of a guy in Japan wearing one so I'm going to try some Japanese sights.
Are...
I had this cowboy\western belt as a kid. It was black leather and had small white leather areas with colored jewels (red, green, blue) on them. Does that sound familiar to anyone and if so do you know the name of the style? I had seen an adult version a few years ago at a tack shop but now I...
I love all three of those bands and they all dressed cool too. Although I like the later Clash clothes more than the early stuff. When they got more into the military and 50's stuff. I like what Strummer said in "Westway to the world" about getting out of flared trousers of the hippy days and...
Edward,
Ha! Are you a Pistols or a Clash Man? I'm assuming not a Jam fan.
Yea, jeans should be tightish around your boots. Look at Clint in "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" or Brando in "Wild Ones"
