    subdued patch on vietnam jackets

    I saw that the subdued patch are officially started in 1970, but from pictures it seems that soldiers at the time were using these patch before. Any ideas when the subdued ssi have started to be used? And specifically when they started for the 1st of cavalry? Thank you in advance.
