Recently I bought another Grais jacket rather cheap, a Flightmaster in brown/reddish HH with a nice patina mainly on the sleeves, but the cuffs and waistband were in very bad coodition. So I bought a set from Mash japan 100% wool in seal brown, the original was more a brown/greenish but I didn't...
Hi, a friend owns what seems to be an Harley-Davidson W-style with a wonderful patina.
He asked me some more infos about it and how much could it be worth.
I am not an expert, the Tanaka book shows one of these in black steerhide, while his one seems to me a brown horsehide but I could be...
I was wondering if there is a way to soften a vintage leather jacket (horsehide or steerhide) that is both effective and safe for the hide.
Sometimes vintage jackets are stiff and being able to soften them a bit would make the wearing much more comfortable.
Any experience or idea? Thanks
Hi,
the work was done by a lady not far from me that makes repairs of leather motorcycle jackets, I brought everything to her and she did all the work (zipper, cuffs replacement etc). She is not perfect but good enough for the job I needed. But I am in Italy.
Hi all,
I hope this post is not wrong in this section.
Tomorrow I will be in Barcelona for three days, I know there is a big flea market there, the Mercat del Encants, anyone knows if it worth visiting and if is there any chance to find something interesting at good prices?
Thanks
Anyone who owned a vintage Lacoste polo knows that quality wise the "modern" ones aren't comparable to the old ones.
For vintage I mean when they were still made in France. I know that recently they launched a new "made in france" line but this is another story and they don't make the classic...
Can anyone share details that help to date vintage Rayban sunglasses? It seems there is not much infos on the web.
For vintage I mean before 1998 when Luxottica bought B&L/Rayban, as I don't think that they are not "real" Rayban after.
I refer mainly to the Aviator, Outdoorsman and Shooter...
Hi,
I just bought this vintage n-3B that should arrive in a couple of days.
Even though it seems in good conditions I would like to clean/wash it before wearing it.
I am not sure about dry-cleaning fearing to damage the fur and the roundel logo, but I am not sure that washing it in water is a...
I agree, this is the reason why I already wrote in the past that a thread like this one but dedicated to european items would be welcome and helpful for some of us
Hi, anyone can help in dating and identifying this jacket? No label inside (maybe lost) only the care label remains that indicates as manufacturer Tripp NYC, a brand unknown to me and surely not high quality, brass scovill zippers and buttons. Maybe from the 70s?
Do you think it's horsehide or...
This is a couriers broker that I used a couple of times to ship from USA to Italy, prices are very low compared to "normal" courier rates and often also lower that USPS but much faster, it's worth to check it out:

I just bought a vintage Woolrich Mackinaw in very good conditions for its age, from the label it seems to be from late 40s to early 50s. No worn-out wool even on friction prone parts. There is some small repair to do but nothing important. The worst thing is a missing button (bakelite?) on one...
Considering the costs and hassle to have jackets shipped from overseas, for us european it could be nice to have a sub-thread dedicated to finds and deals in europe...
