I'm looking at buying a used hat online, and the sizing marking instead the hat is "7/8." There are clearly no other numbers missing, just those two. Does anyone know what this refers to?
Ha! TheDane, "clawhammer" refers to the banjo technique in this case, which is not to say that I'm not as dense as the tool. Actually I used the prize money from a local banjo contest to buy my Whippet, which seemed like the right thing to do.
A question for you all: I'm planning to spend a year in West Africa and need a hat that will a) keep me cool, b) provide decent sun protection, c) be fairly durable, and d) not look horrible. I can't stand most of the "outdoor" hats I've seen...they're fine for hiking, but not for living...
