Yes, I see what you mean. That hadn't occurred to me. Thanks for the good advice! Dark blue it is! But, under different circumstances, would white be appropriate in April?
Is it too early in the year to wear a white suit? Is the time of year a concern anymore? I have a job interview tomorrow and would like to wear my white suit, but I don't want to be viewed as ignorant or uncouth. Any advice or opinions? By the way, I'm located in Las Vegas. Thanks!
Saw this on Ebay today. The sweatband says "Open Road" but I've never seen an OR with a wide ribbon like that. Anyone ever seen an OR like this? It looks to be a nice hat. If it was my size I'd definitely bid on it.

Playboy
I would say late 60's or early 70's. If the sweat band is black it's probably in that time frame. Let me add that I'm not as knowlegeable as many on this forum and that others could give you a better estimate.

Now how the heck did that happen? And I thought I was being so original!
I will change my avatar since you've been a member longer than me (by a month, it seems!)
Stetson Playboys
The Playboy is a name Stetson used for many years, and many styles. I have two, one which I believe is from the fifties which has a wide brim and high crown. I also have one which I believe is from the mid to late sixties which is velour-like and has a very stingy brim. Yours...
Love those Champs!
I, too, love Champ hats. I now own four, and surely would have bid on that one if it was in my size. Great style , great color, and a wind trolley to boot!
I think you got a good deal. That one will notice that moth nibble.
And I won the third one, although I bid on all three. I knew when I lifted my first vintage Borsalino out of the box a few weeks ago that I would have to have more. The hat I just won will be my fourth Borsalino. The styling and workmanship are fantastic, and the felt is unbelievable. You made a...
Love my Champ! Looking for more!
I scored a Champ a couple of months ago. It is "serpent" colored with a matching thin ribbon and a matching wind trolley. It even had the original price tag in it (10.95) which, unfortunately, my baby grand-daughter got ahold of and destroyed. I learned from the...
How did I miss that one?
Don't know how I missed that beauty, but I assure you I would have run the price up a little higher than you paid. Great hat, great buy!
The Orson
The Orson by Bailey was one of the first hats I bought when I first started to wear hats and before I did much research. I bought the black one. I love the look of the hat, but I found the wool felt to be stiff and difficult to reshape. I do wear it occasionally, but I find myself...
I wasn't exactly awed by the acting or the movie itself. I was at times distracted by goings-on around my apartment. But it was beautifully photographed with a real "vintage feel". I was wondering about reactions to the costumes, especially the hats. I thought they were great. Loved the classic...
I'm watching "The Black Dahlia" on Cinemax as I type this. There's lots of good looking hats. Historically accurate? Personal opinions about the hats or the movie?
Hi all,
Just got my account up and running a week or so ago, so it's not very fancy!Of course, some of those pages are so busy you can't read them. Hope to be hearing from and adding all you FLers.
What a beauty!
Pilgrim, The Lyle is a beauty! I covet it. I love playing my Ibanez AS73, but something happened to the electronics yesterday and I'm taking it to the shop tonight. I guess I'll be playing my son's Epi Les Paul Standard for a while.
