I did find one image on another board with that, and it was referred to as an "embellished jacket"
This one was a very military look with a 5 or 6 buttons, very 90's.
Desription was "Gianni Versace Vintage Jacket Black Tux? 90s?"

Similar look. But these were specifically on the coat lapel (vs shirt)
He could have"repurposed" them, but unlikely.
He was the kind of person that it had to be EXACTLY correct.
I will at least start the search with that ;0)

An older gentleman of refined tasted had a unique metallic corner on his notch lapel jacket (I believe tuxedo jacket). I believe they were in pairs; one on each lapel, right and left. He has long since disappeared from my circle to contact, but I always admired (and would like to find) a (set)...
