Fred, There is a place along the same street, Broadway, farther South than Flossie McGrews, just north of Hamden called Ted's Clothiers that carries Scala brand hats. They also claim to carry authentic Panama's from Equador. I can't vouch for them, but they did have a fairly decent... -

I seem to find most of my (vintage) fedoras in antique stores around the metro area. I've taken a couple to the guy at Shepplers off of Orchard to have them cleaned...he did a fair job, and didn't charge too much if I recall. I believe he makes some customs too..nice guy...go in and chat with... -

To be wearing a vintage Stetson in the rain? Now honestly, that's why I buy a hat...to keep the rain and snow and sun off my face. But will I be persecuted for getting a nice vintage hat wet? Your thoughts please..and quickly...it's raining here and I have to leave work soon! JCBurns
