I personally like wearing a Bakerboy or a Gatsby with my Aero Barnstormer. With either style, they seem to be period correct. I also drive a 29 Model A roadster, and now that the weather is cooling down, I have a leather aviator's cap to wear while motoring.
I also have a Aero Hercules FQH...
My barnstormer
I wish I knew how to post a picture with my reply, however...:eusa_doh:
If you go to Mark Moyers home page, and go to the Barnstormers, you will see mine, it's the Russett Jerky Horse hide, with the drill linning. I love it.
Mark was fantastic to work with. It fits me...
In the North Dakota museum of aviation, there is a full length leather jump suit worn by the early flyers. It was a chocklate brown in color, and it has a zip front and fur collar. I could not see what the lining was, if there was in fact one. But it was one worn by flyers of the 20's and 30's...
COLD plain and simple. Nights down to about -35 wind chill, real tempature -5 F. Days, high +7 F, wind chills been around -20's.
Friday night so windy could hardly keep a jacket on. Winds 35 to 45, with gusts over 50.

I got this from the leather store, where I take some of my good in for repair. He suggested using "White Vinegar" to wipe down my leather goods. Especially my jackets. I am a smoker, and I tried it and to my amazement it did work. To be sure, I did smell like white vinegar until I could air out...
"I prefer pure petroleum jelly for stiffer leathers, belts, hats, etc. and unscented baby oil/mineral oil for leathers I want real soft.
Mineral oil on a Brooks saddle is magic."
HMMM...That's one I haven't heard of, but I don't know why it wouldn't be just fine. I just bought a pair of...
I wear a tie, SOMETIMES..
In my line of work, FAA inspector, Some days I wear my Black PERRONE leather black jacket, This is the style that Alaska Airlines pilots, and SouthWest pilots wear. I modified mine slightly, in that I had the cuffs made leather without a storm inner elastic, and I had...
:eusa_doh: My apology, it is under Mark Moyer's picture trail, customers jackets. I think you have to find the Barnstormer jacket and click on it.
But I am still thrilled about the jacket...It is everything I could ask for.

P.S. When I got all excited, I didn't get any on the...
Dare I say!!!
I like this Barnstormer so much, I just ordered a "Hercules" in the heavy F/Q with the drill lining from AERO. Only modifications is to make the pull straps on the sides just a skosh longer, the vintage color for the zips. (bright brass or silver-no)
And I'm having a "Made...
Barnstormer arrived, and I soiled my pants!!
The postman left about 45 minutes ago, and here I sit in my New Aero Barnstormer typing this out. OH My!! I think I soiled myself when I took it out of the box. It is a Russett color in Jerky, with drill lining. The fit...it's as if I had went over...
I'll have to chime in here too about the customer service by Mark Moyer. I should be receiving my Russet-Jerky Barnstormer tomorrow. I thought I might have received it today. Should be tomorrow. Anyway, I too E:mailed back and forth with Mark, I don't think he ever sleeps!!! I telephoned him a...
Something else that always goes with a leather jacket would be a turtle neck sweater. Again, a white turtle neck sweater though would be too much of a clash with a black leather coat, in my opinion. I'm trying to think of a color that would go well.

I agree with the above suggestions, with a medium grey or dark grey slacks, with a cuff. I think you might be able to get by with something like a cashmere blend V neck sweater, without it being bulky underneath. In my opinion, if you wear a grey slacks, with a black leather coat, a plain white...
Although I am not exactly a dective, I do somewhat similar work for the Government, as an inspector. In this cold weather I wear my light brown/tanish color Hickey Freeman top coat a wool and cashmere blend with either my Scala with a tear drop crease or my Bailey "Como II' which I really like...
Ben,
I saw that too this morning when I read the paper. BUT..for you folks in Chicago it has been a bit on the nippy side has it not?, and what I am experiencing right now, you should be getting tomorrow. -5 for tonight, was down about -2 last night, at least on my thermometer. And yes I...
Gentlemen,
Over in the jackets forum, I most recently purchased a "Barnstormer" type jacket from Aero Leather company. Now I am in need of a cap or possibly a fedora to go with.
On the inside cover of issue #1 of AERO's booklet STYLE/REVIEW there is a person motoring in the London to...
