Kubrick's "The Killing" from 1956 with Jay C Flippen, Sterling Hayden (I'd only recalled seeing him in "the Godfather"), Elisha Cook Jr., and others. I watched this after the family had all gone to bed. I'm surprised I didn't wake someone up as I was laughing so hard at the end.
Moral of the...
Not terribly retro, but had to throw a little respect Mickey's way.
Sheesh, that's a lot more me, and a lot less tie than I had originally thought that picture showed. I'll have to improve on this.
We watched it as a family. She might be alright. She's quirky, yet not the same kind of quirky that Abby is. Tony saw a wedding ring on her hand so maybe we'll be spared the whole "will there be a romance?" nonsense.
I'm sort of watching the Golden State Warriors hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on TNT.
I haven't watched a game in probably 3 years. I've been enjoying it, for the most part.
I was just thinking of this movie the other day. Couldn't agree more with the comments about Powell and Loy working so very well together. In this one I also appreciate the great performances by Jack Carson - one of my favorites, Florence Bates as the absolute WORST mother-in-law you could...
Last night, watched One of the earlier ones, with Bela Lugosi and a very young Robert Young. (Yes Bud, once upon a time your dad was in Hawaii hob-knobbing with Hollywood actresses and Charlie Chan. Just don't tell Kathy.)
Hard to beat Andy Griffith. Dare I say impossible.
I viewed 2 episodes of Jeeves and Wooster. They're new to me, I was familiar, but had not seen them.
I'll have to look for that one.
Tonight it was Charlie Chan in Reno. Poor Jimmy borrows a car, then gets car-jacked and thrown out of the moving vehicle wearing only his underwear. But it ends well as he purchases a fine suit and a great cowboy hat.
Oh, and Charlie solves the mystery.
AtomicEraTom - I could listen to John Conlee for hours. Great song.
Today I listened to an episode of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on Internet Archive. Basil Rathbone as Holmes. Supposedly Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson, but I didn't think it sounded much like him.
Not my team, but glad the Sox won. My brother is a Cards fan. Oh it's been rough putting up with him for years.
Since it ended, I've been watching re-run of American Pickers.
Aaron and Blackthorn; I'm late to the party, but enjoyed both collections of pictures. Hiking can be great fun. Most places I've hiked, haven't had a view anywhere near so stunning. The Holy Land is a place I'd always been hesitant to dream of going. Your photos could make a guy reconsider...
