I also bought a VERY nice Biltmore Roselinni....like NEW, no complaints either, and yes, i would like the Campdraft, but buying a HOUSE comes first..(******)
I was having deja vue I thought...the reason I was interested is I have a Fed IV Deluxe in Tawny Fawn..size 59..and I love it. BTW, I am a true 59 or 7 3/8, this hat fit perfectly and still does...I have worn it to Cairo, Amman, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Geneva, Paris, London, TelAviv, Jedda, and...
I have a couple Borsolinos, one kind of a fawn color, other Navy. Both are newer hats, Navy only worn once. Both 59, or 7 3/8. I bought one in Rome, the brown one in Milano. I'll send a pix when I get back to Germany on Saturday if you are interested. I also have about 5 more hats I liquidating...
I would have loved it, but I started vacation with no hats, now have a Biltmore Montreal Monticristo, a 40's vintage Open road, and a 50's vintage Adam in unworn condition. Oh yeah, and I bought a new watch. I was out of room before, but that sure was a beauty!
I read that thread, and wish I lived closeer to Cinci..still may have to swing by on vacation. hey slim, thanks for the good deal on a fine looking hat!
Interested
If that hat is as nice as it looks, I am interested. How long would it take to get the sweat installed? I am going to be in MI for a month, and actually will bew in southern Ohio end of july for 10 days. let me know.
Thanks, I travel so much, its hard to get time to 'play around', plus I bought a Fed IV Deluxe, and its been all the hat I need...ok, well, most all the hat I need. I am getting ready to sell about 8-10 hats..(no the Biltmore I bought from you is not one of them) soon, just have to get good...
To me, the sweat alone is worth the extra price. I bought a Fed IV deluxe a few months ago. I travel extensively, have worn mine in snow/rain in Paris, dust storm in Cairo, under a blazing sun in Jordan, and it works splendid! This hat gets beat up in airport Xray machines, I sleep with it on in...
Thanks for all the comments guys. Untill recently I literally had not been outside of the U.S. BTW, that is only the places that I have photos of my hats that I have been to. I travel every other week as a rule. As anyone can tell you though..'there's no place like home'! Trust me, I miss and...
The liner on the Borso is actually falling out..it claims to be 'a waterproof liner', and it just is not very well installed. I have two other Borsos, and they dont have the same problem, in fact, i own about 15 hats, from an inexpensive (but real soft and well built ) modern Tonack to my...
OK, few more, most of them in my Borso, it has become my traveling hat for the most part, though I just purchased a nicer model while in Milano last week.
Here I am in Berlin in front of the Brandenburg Gate
Straddling the Berlin Wall in Potsdam Platz, Borso of course
From the Christmas...
OK, finally am back on the 'lounge'. I have been traveling a great deal since moving to Frankfurt. I never leave home without at least one hat, though I have
learned when traveling to Italy, I will be bringing back more than I leave with..ALWAYS!
First, I took my 'converted' Stetson Gun Club...
I own a fairly recently purchased Akubra CEO that i bought in Frankfurt. It is very well made, though about as stiff as my Biltmores or Stetson. It is great to wear in any weather! I also have three recently purchased Borsalinos, two from Rome, and one from Milan. The Borsos are as soft as a hat...
