Hi, this very fine black western style hat deserves a chance to survive as is, before I rebash, trim brim and convert to a Fedora. I used to be big into Western hats, and bought this for a formal affair. I wore it ONE time. It is immaculate! There is one thing that needs to be revealed. I bought...
I shower morning and nite. and when I shower, I wash my hair. I keep it very short, but in my experience, clean hair and scalp is key to never having dandruff, scalp problems.
Here are some photos of a cheaper western hat that I had the 'Hatter' bash and rearrange the brim for me. I had the bbrimtrimmed to 2 5/8..it was 3 1/2. I thought I was going to have to hurt the hatter. this was at a western shop in OKC. I added a nice hat band, and overall I'm pleased with it...
As most of you know, I am fairly new to the FL, but not new to hats. I have 2 very nice straw Stetsons, and 2 fairly nice Felt Stetson western hats, and one high end Stetson Felt hat. I am also the proud owner of two new Biltmore Fedora's, one and Ark in Black, and one is a Giorgia Cellini...
I'm actually an Inspector, so I also get alot of Inspector Gadget remarks..or 'G-Man' remarks. However, I get alot of positive coments also. Now, I am 6'1", 275 lbs, but I try to always have a smile on my face, and a gleam in my eye. Also, wearing the hat correctly, tipping it to ladys or older...

That is no doubt, one very fine hat! And it looks like I now have a name for my obsession! Wow is all I can say. My wife will skin me if I buy another hat right now. Does anyone have any experience with Henry the Hatter in Detroit doing all the work I want done? I cold fly to these recommended...
I apologize if I drifted off the direction of this thread. I really have been thinking of getting an Akumbra...something I can wear for casual, yet with a leather coat and tie if the occasion arises. I just want to be able to touch one, see how it feels, fits first.
I really would like a nice vintage fedora, something like my grandfather used to wear. Not sure of its brand, but it was kinda olive brown, shaped like an open road. I have a 2 good hats , a couple westerns, and 2 outback types, but would love something in a tan or sand color.
As far as...
Ok, I was wondering about doing that, as I already have the hats, they both fit, and for $65 or so, I can have two new hats. I might as well give it a try. I'd love to go to Optimo's, but not sure if I can afford them. I bought one of my Biltmores at Hats-Plus in Chicago a couple months ago...
Hey, I have a question...I have 2 nice Stetsons western hats, one is a 30X felt in black (El Patron) the other is a 10X in light tan. I used to wear western hats, but it really never set well with me. I have been trying to sell them on Ebay, Craigs List, not a single hit. Is it possible to have...
I own 4 pairs of Ariat boots, dating back to 4 years ago. When I bought the first pair, the were extremely cheap. Now they have gone up in price, but I still consider the to be the best value, and most comfortable boots around. I have one pair of 13 inch pointed toe, and 2 pairs of ropers, and...
Does anyone know anything about the Scala Fur Felt 'Venice' Fedoras? They look nice, and the price is pretty good. I have 2 Fur Felt hats both Biltmores, one from Henry the Hatter in Detroit, the other from Hats-Plus in Chicago. I was wondering how the Scala compares in quality? Any info would...
I agree that you really worked a miracle on that hat! Very sweet! I am confused though, I thought you were from Detroit? I keep thinking I'll try my hand on rebashing a couple hats I have, but they also really need to be reblocked, and the brims trimmed to get the full effect I want. I may just...
Graphite Blue
Which is actually kinda a dark blue/grey charcoal affair. it's wrapped around a 2010 VW Jetta. I love the car, and if I was out West, or down South, this color would be too hot, but here in the Midwest, it's very nice. It looks very rich and expensive.
I actually bought a 'hat rack' from a hat dealer online. It was $6 and it was what Hats-Plus in Chicago uses to display their hats. I bought two no, and I figure I will add more as my hats multiply. It's oval shaped, and tapers so your sweat band is all that touches.
