Sorry, yes I meant Vanson Enfield.
*Also pretty sure it wasn't Junja Watanabe but I could be wrong and will see if I can find info on that collaboration.
Sometime ago (8-10 years?) I remember seeing some pics of Vanson jackets that were executed in collaboration with a boutique Japanese brand. I seem to recall one of the custom designs was based on the Vanson Ensign.
Can anyone recall what the name of that Japanese brand was?
I'm in Canada. Does anyone know the approximate ball park price of the cost of shipping a Vanson Enfield jacket from Canada to the US?
$25? $50? I haven't bought a jacket in a decade or more and never had to ship one and can't remember the amount that might be needed.
Also, what type of...
I've been looking around trying to source a decent surplus ECW Cdn. Military Parka (the old ones that used the detachable liner vs the more modern/expensive Goretex non-detachable liner version). Came across a surplus outlet in BC that also apparently offers brand new replicas at $150.
Has...
I don't know what WikiP has to say about leather....sounds like you do though. I'm basing my conclusions on my handling of multiple samples from Langlitz, Aero and Vanson as well as a few months of reading around the subject of tannage. None of their samples look like the leather on your $300...
Actually Mojo my "conclusion" was based on the pictures. As I said, very nice jacket but I usually don't see pronounced pebbling on high end cow/steer leathers. I find cheaper cow leathers that have been buffed and then corrected (stamped) usually have pronounced pebbling. Aero and Vanson cow is...
Actually JJ I think the Alpha $250 B15 you refer to is "Replica Green" as opposed to their "Sage"...not sure but I believe it's a little bluer than sage.
I like the Alphas too, recently purchased one of their navy MA1's. As for military style parkas I like them as long as they have real fur on...
Wow, great aquisitions. The veg tan is very tasty looking. The Lost World's moose hide is a looker too and suspect it will really pop after some heavy 'mileage'. Certainly don't see those every day.
Nice jacket but the pronounced pebbling suggests its "corrected grain" does it not? While I appreciate that you're a vendor and excited about your wares, not sure I would put it on par with the aero and vanson hides as you suggest. :)
Ordered a custom Enfield (sz. 38) last summer but dammed if I didn't gain almost 40 lbs. due to a prolonged hospital stay and subsequent recuperative period. I don't see myself ever getting back to 150-155 lbs. so I'll be ordering a larger Enfield or Aero Bootlegger shortly.
I'm...
Well I live in such an isolated region they have to pipe the light in, as a result I have never been exposed to any denim beyond your average $40.00 Wranglers. Some day I'm going to find out what I've been missing. I usually get 5+ years or more out of a pair of Wranglers, the denim seems okay...
I always thought it odd that Aero doesn't include the hem strip as a matter of course, certain other manufacturers who charge less for their jackets do so.
I won't comment on the 50 pd. charge for the strip other than to say I think it's a bit much considering one is paying approx. $900 for the...
Pefect fit Gancho, that's how a CR should look! I like the full bi-swing too.
I be very interested in knowing how much the jacket weighed if you could.
Ted.
Actually I think it would be prudent for you to take your sleeve length as measured from the edge of your shoulder to your wrist knuckle (or from mid neck to wrist knuckle) rather than using a jacket that you believe "fits you well".
The reason I say this is I see alot of people wearing...
Fabulous jacket there C.
Someday I'll have enough saved up to send you my 865 engine for the 1087 treatment. :) [And I hope that day comes sooner rather than later. :) ]
