I'll be sorry I asked but...

Even when I was in the Marines, I never wanted a tattoo. The money I would have used on the ink would have taken away from my drinking. As far as piercings, that was always a no no in the Corps. I was duty NCO one night and the Officer of the Day came into my office pulling a young private who...

    Drunken hat grabbing minors...

Ah, that'd be cool. A sword... but I'd have to find a vintage one that goes with my '30s/'40s fixation! Methinks the wife (and the police) would say "no"... Wives and cops....... the killjoys of life

    Enjoying a cup of tea

I'm trying all sorts of tea when I can. Earl Grey ranks at the top of the list. I also have in my stash at the present time Chinese Green tea, Irish breakfast, pekoe, and I believe I have a small amount of Prince of Wales. My favorite cup however is a half quart military canteen cup.

Distinguished Marines featured on postage stamps

    Vintage Candy

They sell Clove, Blackjack and Beeman's at most Cracker Barrel restaurants. I haven't seen the Teaberry. Might call them up and ask if they sell straight to the consumer.

    Cleaning an old canteen?

Oops! I forgot to mention that the crystallized ginger was to improver the taste , not for the cleaning process.

    Cleaning an old canteen?

Steve, it looks to me like thats a German canteen without the cup. Usually for any canteen that I havent used in a while, I'll use a bleach/water mix and let it sit for a few days, just to clean the gunk out. I have seen a suggestion on a site that sells metal canteens to use crystalized...

    Great Classic Pocket Knives

I carry a Camillus military "campers" knife. I've decided long ago, when I find a good knife, I stick with it .

    Memoirs of a Geisha

My daughter has seen the movie twice, and raves about it. I think that's enough for me to never want to see it.

Call of Duty Video Game, WWII Etc. Anyone Play?

He says it's very realistic, but he's not really informed enough to make such a call. (But, for example, I was impressed to hear that the empty clips fly out of the Garand M1s after eight shots.) Yes, after 8 shots the clips do eject with the realistic "ting" sound. I know this...

I just got Call Of Duty for Christmas. I think it's a pretty good game, good graphics, etc. Another good game is Medal of Honor Pacific Assault. But maybe thats the old Jarhead in me talking........
