Miss Sis, I too, am a size 9, so don't worry, you're in good company! I just say that I have dancer's feet ;)
The problem I have with Remix shoes is that for my slightly wider-than-average feet they seem to feel a bit narrow in the heel. But I've found some amazing and comfortable vintage...
I'm really pale but I have really pink undertones in my skin that make matching reds rather difficult. I've found a China red that works well with my skin tone and doesn't make me look like a tramp. I use L'Oreal's Colour Riche - Penelope's Red and I LOVE it.:D
Miss Sis - I know what you mean. I try and get use out of everything I have, and if I can't use it I get it to someone who can. But the tendency nowadays is to make garments that no longer stand the test of time but only last for a season and then can be thrown out.
There's an element of both for me, although I dress the way I do just because I love it. It's hard to distinguish yourself in Los Angeles, when every gal you know has that "LA look" and dresses the same (it's almost eerie when you notice it). And, well, I like to feel classy, which is hard to...
I'm on a vintage movie marathon - currently watching Swing Time and absolutely in heaven with it. After that it's An American in Paris and Shall We Dance?.
Now if I could just dance like Ginger I'd be set.
Oh I know I'm in the right place when I get all aflutter over a vintage advertisement. Binkie, I can't wait to see a better upload but thank you in the meantime! That's the bee's knees.
Paddy - thank you so much for the suggestion! Ah, Paris in the summertime - sounds heavenly! This will...
But oooh look what I found on eBay today!
It's a vintage Bond Street satchel - I can't wait to migrate my current bag to this one. Now I'll just need to search Europe high and low to find the trench to go with it.
At some point the Netherlands is on my list, too. I just want to see the world.
Andy, thank you so much for all your help and for making a newbie feel welcome.
Merci beaucoup!
Dora
And of course, once I find the trench of my dreams I'll make sure to post pics. Stay tuned! Not heading across the Atlantic until June (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it?).
Thank you both for the low-down! Now I'm more excited for my trip than ever! Andy, I think I'll be spending more time in Paris than I originally intended thanks to you :D
And I have some Scottish friends in town; I'll have to hit them up about where they go vintage shopping.
Cheers...
Thank you Andy! Much appreciated.
And yes, a fabric description would help, wouldn't it? :eusa_doh:
I'll be taking this trench to New York, Scotland, and Paris, so a fabric that can withstand all types of weather and travels well would be best.
I did a bit of sleuthing online and came...
Vintage Women's Trench Coats
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help.
I'm looking for a vintage women's trench coat and I am having a heck of a time finding a style. Many of the coats made for the gents have nice, clean lines but I'm finding that a lot of ladies coats lack definition in...
Hello ladies!
I've been skulking around here for a bit but I'm excited to be a member of the community!
I've been a swing dancer since 1996 but it took a move to Los Angeles to reignite my love of vintage clothing. Especially shoes. I look forward to chatting away with all you!
Cheers!
