On a recent trip to Scotland, I found myself in my urban vintage garb (Freddie's jeans, 49er, cardigans, blouses and oxfords/saddles) with frequent wet feet and all day damp clothing to be a little less equipped for the rural outdoors.
I'd love some recommendations for vintage style rural wear...
I have been dying my own hair for years. Lately I have been pale pink and was using the Manic Panic over bleached hair but it faded so quickly. There is a brand at Sally called Ion which has recently released bights, I have the fuschia and red and I sheer the color down with conditioner...
Ellis Faas Creamy Lips in L101 - Ellis Red - Not really dried blood (that would be more of a brown red - not really a very flattering colour) but it was blended to resemble blood, from their site "For ELLIS RED - L101, Ellis was able to reproduce the colour that Snow White's mother wished for...
I much preferred Cyndi's Viva Glam shade, it's a lovely pinked out red, I've gotten back into it the last couple of days actually, it's very wearable and natural on me.
My every day red is MAC "MAC Red" the other lippes that I reach for most often are MAC "Viva Cindy" which is essentially my lips but better, Revlon Matte in Strawberry Suede & In The Red and occasionally MAC in Vegas Volt. I also really like Lipstick Queen Medieval for a sheer red that feels...
I use La Femme heaps, they are super cheap, great quality, densely pigmented powders that are triple use - eye shadow, brow powder and blush (depending on shade). I also have a fondness for Illamasqua, so finely milled and exquisite to work with. I do like NARS but since I discovered that they...
I was going to do Sally Jupiter as Silk Specter but ran out of time and cash so a blonde wig, wash off tan and sparkly nude lip gloss will have to suffice this year. Unoriginal but it's only for the work Halloween party so I'm sure it'll do in a pinch.
I've looked online and I'm going to make some detachable peter pan collars and get some puff sleeve/mutton leg shrugs to give the Ts a more vintage vibe and dress them up a little so that I don't look as hodge podge. Paired with my usual hair and make up I think I'll survive.
I was actually...
Yep, I think I'm going to be amping the make up up a little (normally lightly contoured lids and red lips) and I can wear my own everything else. I got totally sprung with the size too small shirt this morning when I got in. I was wearing a pencil skirt with back hem ruffles, a black printed...
Fitted ts with small cap sleeves & the company logo on them. Various colours but very modern cuts. How do I retain my personal style while wearing my uniform? I need some inspiration and examples of how please ladies! I'm mostly 40's/50's...
A little Aussie company called MooGoo makes a shampoo and conditioner that helps with scalps, from dandruff to eczema, etc. They smell like milk bottle candy.

Revlon has some new lippies out that are great! They're called Colorburst and I bought True Red and tried it on when I got home, it's perfect! It's brighter than Russian Red and the consistsncy is a bit creamier. I think this will be taking over for a while!
