Yes, they surely played well. I have a couple of their "Greatest Hits" type albums. It's my understanding that the actress who played Charlene on the show would sometimes sing with them at their actual concerts - she had a fine voice too.
To keep the thread honest, here's Miss Charlene in a hat...
Haha! Briscoe Darling never got too excited. He was one of my earliest heroes in my youth. My mother was not real pleased about that, but when I asked her if she'd rather I be more like Ernest T. Bass, she softened a little. :D
"That's mighty fine juggin', Mr. Darling."
"I can get banjo...
I'm really puzzled by this statement. Which generation, in which country, was "entirely wiped out by AIDS"? Perhaps you just mis-spoke, or are speaking figuratively in a sense I'm not catching?
I'm about the same age as you are, and I agree that folks growing up in the 70s and 80s had plenty of...
I have never been a big baseball fan (or a big sports fan, for that matter), but you couldn't grow up when I did and not know who Hank Aaron was. The man had real talent that seemed to be tempered with humility, and he seemed to be a genuinely good person. Those qualities are sorely lacking in...
Very nice! I absolutely love those older N-frames. I have several variations of the model 25 that I enjoy very much. In my opinion Rugers are the king of modern single-actions, but Smith and Wesson's double-action revolvers are a true work of art and an example of graceful workmanship, and can't...
I have owned boots by most of the Pacific Northwest makers over the years, and all are very good in their own right, but White's are my favorites. That 10" height and roughout leather will make a fantastic work boot! You've made an investment that should serve you well for years.
Was your wife...
Thank you! All of the points you discuss have been concerns for me. And, like you say, engineers just aren't made to walk in, at least not for extended periods. I bought the pair I have prior to a hip replacement a couple years ago, because I just couldn't see being able to bend over to lace up...
I’d not heard him do that one. I like a lot of Gordon Lightfoot songs, but I’ll have to say this is one song where the “cover” is every bit as good as the original.
RIP, Mr. Rice, you certainly contributed to the greater good while you were here.
I fail to see how an "incest joke", as you call it, belongs in a "Clean Joke" thread. I'm not a Texan, but I don't know how they or anyone else with a sense of decency would find an "incest joke" "clean". I think a lot of folks here were hoping that this was just a matter of poor translation...
Thank you, JustinW and MrFrown, much appreciated.
Indeed, it's the instep fit that has me buffaloed. I have a high/full instep that requires a "close instep" adjustment withn most White's boots. I don't know how to translate that to a boot that will slip on and off, but still be snug when worn...
Those are some great looking boots - I've wanted a pair just like that for some time but getting a good fit on engineers by mail-order is intimidating.
I think that's just about the perfect make-up in my opinion. Do you feel that the MP toe cramps your feet any? And would you post a couple of...
