Thanks, Esther. I was only on the phone with Tim for a short time, but not only did he blow me away with his knowledge but he also came up with a great idea when I merely mentioned a passing thought. I am really psyched. I can't tell you the great admiration I have for you, Tim, and all the...

Yeah, it seems odd to me that they would overlook it for the ad photos.

I just noticed that the photos on the Hattery site also clearly show the line. Never noticed it before, but it's not on any of my Akubras.

    Alley Kat Hat Co

This afternoon I spoke with Tim, and I've now officially become a member of the Alley Kat Hat pack. I hope I can stand the wait. I'm thinking Grand Torino, but I also have a couple of other ideas. Great guy to talk to, and the man knows hats!

Hi, Tim, I just PM'd you with an idea. I didn't see a phone #, so if you could send me that I'll give you a call. Thx, Bob

    Bill Kelso Duke-Capeskin?

That's exactly what I keep telling my wife, who has pretty much commandeered the thing.

The leather looks very similar to the "Winner Garment" jacket I got from you. I'm no expert, but I've never seen another leather quite like it. Very light and comfortable.

Tim, forgive my ignorance, but do you have a website now? How can I find out about options such as colors, felts, prices, etc.? I know they've been discussed here, but I can't find the pages (too lazy). Christmas is coming up and I owe myself a hat for being such an unacknowledged saint all year.

When I ordered my first custom hemp hat from Peters Bros. I requested the "Stratocaster" style instead of "Stratoliner." A few of my favorite things.

    Highwayman Try-on Jacket.

That song probably had more to do with my quitting my Wall St. job, going back to graduate school, and becoming a college prof. than any other factor: "What a jolly bad show/ if all you ever do/ is business you don't like." BTW, I had the day off today because Obama was speaking at my college...

    Horween Chromexcel Leather Belt

I went on a belt-buying spree a few years back and found that the thicker belts tend to dig into my thighbones and never become really supple. Also, like some of the other Gustin products we've discussed here, it's awfully basic, especially for the $71.00 they're asking. For a few dollars more...

Maybe 1/2 inch longer in the sleeves: otherwise it looks fine. Always nice to hear from an Ian Dury fan. Very good indeed.

It's still a helluva great hat (the CD) for the money. I keep my BGCD in the back of my car and wear it instead of my straws whenever it rains, which means, down here, every day since last June. Still looks great and is very soft.

    Akubra FD4 Deluxe

I think it all depends on how much you sweat, as it's the salt that gets into the stitching of the band that causes the shrinkage. At least that's the theory that makes most sense to me: I've noticed that Lounge members who wear Akubras and do strenuous outdoor work, particularly on farms or...

    Akubra Campdraft Deluxe Silverbelly - Size 7 3/4 - 62

That was the photo that convinced me I needed a SBCD, now one of my favorites. I don't know why, but I hate to see you sell it - it suits you.
