goatskin langlitz for my 4 year old

It's for my daughter - she's still nailing down how to zipper and those talons will make good practice.

goatskin langlitz for my 4 year old

Call me crazy, but this afternoon I BIN'd a tiny child's Langlitz for my 4 year old daughter. The jacket was listed a few minutes before I happened upon it (while researching jacket ideas for myself). Taken by the cuteness of the thing (and the reasonable BIN), I rapidly clicked through the...

    Aero J106 - Too big?

That is one beautiful jacket. As to fit, tough to comment intelligently on fit with those photos, esp. when the arm holding the camera is up (which draws the jacket up). It certainly doesn't look bad. But as Breton says, it's how you feel about the fit that matters.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

From a different Japanese site. Anyone hazard a guess on the price listed on that tag? I love this shot of the pocket.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Plumbline...Thanks. This is interesting: a Japanese site features these pics of a PJ-27 that appears to have a very early label that may place it in the 40s. And speaking of mouton collars.... No idea if the mouton collar is original..

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Plumbline, can you clarify what you mean by 'single belt loops' as a discerning difference between originals and some copies? Those originals that do feature belt loops (which seem to be many, if not most) have what I would consider single belt loops. I know you have something in mind but I'm...

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

An example of a Brooks "PJ-27 style" jacket. I think this helps illustrate Plumbline's observation concerning differences that might be found between PJ-27 inspired jackets - and the true Buco PJ-27.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Dinerman, what's your take on the Ralph Edwards labelled PJ-27-style jackets? It's been suggested earlier in the thread that those were merely copies of the Buco jackets. But some claim that these jackets were indeed made by Buco but contracted out to sell with the Ralph Edwards label -- and...

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Joking about the RL (blue polo tag). I love the old advert - the Style King and Style Queen both look great.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the above - can anyone confirm it's authentic? : )

It can be hard to find shots of the back of the PJ-27.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Thanks Plumbline. I don't have the Rin Tanaka books but after reading your info-dense post a few times it's beginning to make a sense. To clarify, this jacket below is a J-15, and designed as a woman's jacket? I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

The plot thickens. The horsehide 'low flapper' that I posted shows belt loops - as do all the top flappers I've seen. Lost Worlds (sorry I keep referring to LW - they just happen to offer the only J-27 repros that I know of) also places belt loops on both of their versions. Ace, I wonder if...

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

J-15? I didn't even know a J-15 model existed. Lost Worlds calls that jacket the J-27 and, at least as I read it, their site implies that it's the original version; perhaps it's just their default pattern or more popular version. Regardless, they refer to the 'top flapper' as the variant. Can...

Yet another steerhide top-pocket with nice wear. The steer seems to brown out nicely:

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Ace will have to handle that one. So far, I'm just an admirer of the model and have never seen a j27 in person (I'm hoping to soon). All of the photos I've posted are from the web.

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Here's an original Buco j27 with the lower flap pocket - and it's in horse. My impression is that the lower flap version is the earlier version and that the movement of the top flap pocket to the breast (leaving only one zipped pocket) happened a bit later. These are from the web - that's not my...

Buco j27 jackets - originals and repros

Wow, a family indeed! That's a great photo of some fine jackets. Can you talk a bit about them? The cuffs look like they might vary between the two jackets in front, but it's difficult to tell. I wonder if the middle one is actually tagged as horsehide? I've searched around and haven't been...
