You get a note from Facebook telling you that the girl you had the hots for in high school has a birthday, and she's now sixty-nine years old.

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I frequently receive offers from one or another marketer offering a "free gift". I wonder when it became necessary to qualify "gift" with "free". Is there another kind? If I pay for something, can it be a "gift" (unless I plan to give it to someone else)? And while I'm on the subject, when did...

Once again you astound me with your notion of "trivial, but it really ticks you off". Nonetheless, I will do my best to answer your question. I can't say how "turbulent" translates into German, but "trouble" in this case might mean a combination of: - she will toy with your emotions by having...

Last month I moved. Two of my hats (a Northwest Hat Co. 1902 and a homburg of unknown provenance) were packed carelessly and arrived here in Sarasota in need of reblocking. Does anyone know of a place on the Gulf coast of Florida where I can have this done?

Ooohh! How about "Advanced ..." I frequently see companies with "Advanced" in their names or offering products with the same adjective. I wonder what became of the "Retarded ..." companies and products.

When I was a boy my family never owned a car with an air conditioner, or even a new car, for that. Air conditioners became standard a few years later. As a teenager, we would joke that our cars had 450 Air Conditioning. That is, roll down the four passenger windows and drive 50 MPH.

Not an "extra" air conditioner, the only passenger cooling device of the era. Sometimes called a "swamp cooler", it is an add-on device. See this page for more: History of Car Air Conditioning

Maybe he watches a lot of British TV. I'm fond of the police shows. One British word I'm particularly fond of is "nick". It can mean "condition", a police station, or "to arrest", maybe even a few more.

I usually get up at 6:00, too. I don't need an alarm, I have two cats looking for breakfast to do that for me.

Well, if I don't find a buyer, the jacket won't take up too much room in the closet, taking into account the other winter coats I'll be leaving behind. Thanks.

Another asked for the measurement from side gusset to side gusset which is 25 inches. So far as I can tell, TFL can only post pictures from a URL. You can see the jacket on the Aero web site or send me a private message with your email address and I can show them to you that way.
