Separates also look less 'weird' to 'normal' people ;), and after all, if I wore a suit on a day to day basis I wouldn't have any way to 'top' it on a special occasion.
I love that illustration FFF, casual, stylish and pretty timeless looks except for the plus fours!
It's funny cause one of the ones i'm considering has short sleeves. You'd think that short sleeves and wool are contradictory, but then I suppose if you layer on top of it it is still a valid winter garment.
sizing
Hello pendleton fans,
I've got my eye on a couple of used shirts online.
I am between medium and large 40/42,
Any tips on sizing? Do they fit true to size?
True!
Although I think a plain shirt and non-striped tie would be more 'harmonious'.
If one wears such a bold outfit for casual occasions, what would you save for best I wonder?? :D
Excellent photo. One guy is wearing two tone shoes as well.
@Fastuni, I work in a manual job at the moment and wouldn't think of wearing those trousers to work!
But I guess if that kind of quality was the norm in workwear they just took it for granted.
For the aviation enthusiasts there is 'I flew for the Fuhrer' by Heinz Knoke, a war diary by a Luftwaffe ace mostly on the Western front.
Very riveting read, though definitely affected by the propaganda of the time (We had to invade Russia because the Soviets were poised to attack us)
Not...
Totally agree, just goes to show that things generally don't appear out of nowhere.
Then again, there are also polyester cargo trousers and hoodies...
Btw this is the sort of look I see older gentlemen sporting in my area:

I...
Good stuff, I like the racer the best.
As to why you prefer the Detroit over a perfecto... It's more subtle, no studs or belts.
I think that a jacket should have one unusual/stand out feature, in this case it's the asymmetrical cut, no need for any more crazy details.
Personal preference!
Hello all, this is a magnificent jacket, but it would be too much trouble to get it to fit me properly, so I am offering it to you for a good price:
Unmistakably high quality scratchy donegal style tweed
large lapels
patch pockets
colourful sleeve lining...
Everyone is doing vintage inspired to some extent at the moment.
I have a fairisle style jumper from them, 80% wool, good fit, can't complain.
Anything in particular that caught your eye?
