Many thanks for the kind words.
Gfirob, I am not going to play around with the jacket and put it in the washing machine or tumble it. I could never do that to any of my leather jackets.
About a decade ago I took a cheap pre-owned Wested Indy jacket with me under the shower and the result...
Thanks for all the nice comments. A special thanks goes to Feltfan who solved the picture posting problem. Now that's solved I will repost the pics on my older threads as well.
Thanks Feltfan, I'll try it next time I post pictures.
Bobjones, thanks for the kind words. Sorry, I forgot to take some pictures of the front and back when buttoned. The jacket is quite fitted but not overly tight or restrictive. There's more than enough room for a knitted sweater plus dress...
Thanks CP.
No, I wasn't expecting a much thinner hide. In fact when I ordered the jacket last year I asked Will for the thickest and stiffest goatskin available. The result is a jacket with a thicker outershell than a FQHH jacket would have. It's really that thick! Goatskin is a little more...
Hi all,
a couple of weeks ago I received my newest Aero jacket. Initially I was a little put off by its weight and I also thought that the sizing wasn't correct. So I put it away for a while and carefully stored it in its original box. Some days ago I examined the jacket again and this time I...
Windward ,
I am a "Frostköddel" myself therefore I do understand your quest for a really warm Aero jacket. So far I haven't heard of a fully alpaca lined jacket but I have seen pics of a fully tartan lined one. Best ask Aero directly. Have you also considered a fully sheepskin lined jacket...
Alpaca makes the jacket much warmer and more useable in colder climates. You could wear a Highwayman with alpaca up to 15-16 degrees celsius if you don't combine it with a thick sweater...
Both jackets are brown FQHH with some variation in colour. Cordovan looks more purple. Re the colour transfer...It's not an issue with the tanning method or quality control it's just that there is a lot more dye (and presumably more intense dye) used in the finishing process of cordovan HH...
The leather itself isn't very warm but it's windproof and to a certain extent waterproof (FQHH only). Expect Alpaca to be a warm, comfortable and soft lining. Alpaca wool is among the softest natural fibres available. As to being itchy, Aero uses this fabric for the body only, the default lining...
Brown! Fits denim (raw, washed), corduroy, chinos, and most colours including brown, beige, green, olive etc.
The colour transfer of cordovan totally puts me off! Ask for brown F/Q HH as dark as possible to get a nice contrast.
BTW: This is how Aero's current mid brown mouton looks like...
I know that there are and were many different contractors that made jackets for the German police back then. As I already pointed out this particular jacket seems to resemble the original cut but was obviously made for the civilian market. Still a nice looking jacket.

Helfe ja...
Cafebmw is right about the side vent and the missing embroidered patch. I totally forgot about it. But I have also seen jackets made by Krawehl which appeared to be made directly for the civilian market using the official "Polizei"-pattern. They can still be purchased from overstock. Some of...
Scott,
please make sure to order a cotton drill lining for the sleeves and let them add a synthetic rayon OVERLAY. A single layer of rayon for the sleeves is no good match for heavy F/Q HH. A dual liner for the sleeves doesn't make the jacket bulkier, warmer, or heavier but adds...
Thanks HD. I just discovered a size 42 Bootlegger on Aero's sales page. It seems to be a brand new unworn jacket and the leather looks beautiful. The lapels have been slightly enlarged on this one but size 42 is way too big for me...:(
Might still be an excellent deal for somebody who was...
Outstanding jacket and great fit. The Bootlegger is on my wishlist as well. I just love the zip arrangement. A lovely looking hybrid of bike and flight jacket! would you say your size 40 Bootlegger is trimmer fitting than a size 40 Highwayman?
Congratulations! Cool looking jacket. I like the clean front as well. The simple and classic Highwayman design will always look good. Some leather jacket designs look strange and sometimes funny on men beyond let's say 40 but the Highwayman is in fact a jacket that you can truly wear throughout...
Yep, looks like it's a German police jacket from the early 70s probably 60s. I don't know when they entered service with the German police but they are nice looking and appear to be well made. Northern German company "Krawehl" was one of the original contractors back then. I think they still...
...All coats available in brown, black or "nigger"[bad] .
I suppose it means dark brown. This leaflet definitivly lacks a bit of PC. But the jackets look very cool.
