how would I "rate" Five Star?
well, if a normal person who loves leather jackets, military aviation, vintage clothing, etc. wants a quality custom made jacket that looks super and is well made, then it is perfectly reasonable to say that normal enthusiastic jacket wearers need look no further...
My exit jacket was/is a nice well-worn original Roughwear A-2 jacket. I was done.
.............one day I was curious to see what Five Star Leather was up too, looked on their FB page and saw some awesome looking hide so i thought, well $250 is pretty reasonable for one more jacket. So my Five...
easy......Good Wear! if you don't want to wait....Eastman either through HPA or directly from ELC.
No need to pay the extra for Japanese brands that are not any better and in fact are sometimes "overdone".
They often look too pretty.
don't know the exact thickness of premium steer, its heavy but soft. it seems to be graining up a bit but I need to wear it more. Still a bit warm here. i think it will break in nicely

horn buttons

thanks all - I am really looking forward to wearing it once the temps go down.
Not sure of the thickness of the leather. its soft/supple but IMO heavy-ish.
Hello All:
Sorry the photos are not better but wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Shawn and the Five Star team for the superb custom A-1. Great communication, all of my requested choices: Premium seal brown steer hide, horn buttons, seal brown knits, seal brown thread, brown cotton lining. Did...
